The Priests’ Houses next to the Dom St. Marien belong to the oldest stone residential buildings in Germany. The detailed and elaborated restoration makes it a historical uniqueness. A visit of the municipal and cultural history museum will give you an impression of the medieval decor and way of life.

 

Living heritage: Robert Schumann

The town hall, which has a beautiful neo-gothic facade, is situated on the central market. On the opposite there is the most photographed subject of Zwickau: the monument of Robert Schumann. The famous composer is next to the expressionist Max Pechstein the most important personage of Zwickau. The best place to learn more about him is his birth house.

Westsächsische Hochschule Zwickau (FH)

Due to the industrial development – especially the hard coal mining industry – the need of engineers was growing at the end of the 19th century. Therefore specific academies were founded, among others the college “Westsächsische Hochschule Zwickau (FH)” which offers many different branches of study nowadays.

 

City museum

The memory of Pechstein and Bleyl is perpetuated in the art collection of the city museum of Zwickau.

 

Brewery Mauritius

If you look from Johannisbad to the other side of the river Mulde you can see the private brewery next to the hill Trillerberg. Mmmmmauritius – the taste of home.
